Road Trip - April 2017, Part 3
From Portland we travelled south along I5 through Yreka and Sacramento, before turning off towards the Bay Area. The highway past Mount Shasta was a wild ride filled with sleet and snow and a storm that completely enshrouded the volcano.
How do you hide a mountain?
A break in the clouds reveals a hamlet.
After making our way through the pass and descending into the valley north of Sacramento, we hit sunnier weather. Sometimes the best decisions are impromptu: on a whim we decide to stop at the Sacramento Wildlife Refuge and enjoyed a couple of hours of wandering through the wetlands there.

Feeling rejuvenated we headed on towards the Bay Area.
